And when I came to, I had an epiphery.
Made some progress on my goals so far!
This week I:
-Played pickleball on Friday, then played twice on Monday, played Wednesday morning and then twice again Thursday
-Started organizing the guest bedroom closet by donating some clothes to the victims of the Mountain fire.
-Tried my best to sleep early, my app blocking has been really helping with that
-Gamified some of my goals and I am still thinking of ways to make the process (of life and hitting my goals) more fun
-Cooked a healthy meal with lots of veggies.
7 things I am doing to make the process of hitting my goals more fun:
1) Baby steps
-Making the steps manageable and doable but maybe upping up the intensity as time goes on
2) Remembering what it is I want to do
-Remembering my goals by revisiting them regularly (weighing myself everyday)
3) Make it interesting
-Having Beeminder correlate to badges and short term rewards I am earning
4) Thinking about how I will benefit from completing this challenge. Greater health, more happiness & endorphins, stronger, happy with my body, fit into clothes better, prevent disease and health problems
5) Think of who else will benefit. Better for my marriage, influencing my spouse to be healthier
6) Knowing that this challenge will get easier for me over time if I am willing to do what is difficult now. Think of how great it will feel when I succeed down the line. Is some discomfort now worth that?
7) Asking myself "Do I really want the consequences of always putting this off?"
My goal:
Get to 141 lbs by end of Dec (track progress each week on Beeminder) through pickleball (2-4 times a week) and walking (Stepbet)
