Did you SMS text message me?
Things that work for me:
Inconsistent consistency. Let me explain:
In order for me to not get bored, I need to not do something everyday, and instead, it needs to be something that I am able to "catch up on" which for whatever reason, feels more fun than rote consistency.
For example, a cleaning habit or a reading habit. I may not be in the mood to work on this habit everyday, but I can have a weekly goal that if I fall behind on, I can catch up to.
It's more spontaneous than daily consistency but can still trick my brain into more consistency than if I tried to do something everyday, failed or got bored and gave up.
Like writing this blog for instance. I haven't written everyday, but instead have prepared blog posts in advance on the days when I am writing so I am catching up to the future and giving present me a break from writing on the days when I am busy or don't get around to writing.
I haven't quite figured out how to do this successfully with my other goals yet like fitness, but it is something that has worked for my decluttering goals, and I've been able to keep track of my wins as well. The overall cumulative effect on my results then becomes so much more impactful and important than consistency overall.
