Not everything is a lesson. Sometimes you just fail.

I went to a book sale this morning and my gift card that I had brought to use, fell out of my pocket at some point. I hadn't been able to use that gift card so I put it in my pocket and it wasn't there in my jacket when I got home. So I called the book sale, drove back, and searched the parking lot to no avail.

Thankfully, my husband had the presence of mind to tell me to try to call the company about the lost gift card. I was able to ask the to open a case so that they could help me replace the card. No guarantees but I suppose it's a lot better than if I had just dropped a wad of cash with no hope of return. Here's hoping that someone is $200 richer this Thanksgiving season who needs it.

The lesson I already knew but failed to put into effect? Be careful when putting cards in your pocket because they will fall out. That's what wallets are for, dummy.

And so Mercury Retrograde shenanigans begin. A $200 lesson and the start to my Black Friday season.
