Boom, roasted. | Day 14 of 90
We're about 14 days into the New Year and granted, I've been on vacation for the past week as one last hurrah before Frank starts working, but I wanted to check in on my goals to see what I could remember of them.
PERSONAL FITNESS
1. Go to the Sauna in the morning or on cold days when I don't have pickleball.
I haven't joined a new gym yet, but was very consistent in going to the sauna leading up to my vacation because I wanted to use up my remaining membership and then I got sick. It will have expired by the time we get back, so I'll try out some gyms nearby for a trial this week.
2. Play pickleball once a week with friends and with Frank.
Played some pickleball with Frank before he starts working, and planning on playing again this week. I'm still thinking about whether I want to sign up for classes this time around, since I would like to add in some more routine to my week for regular fitness.
3. Start Stepbet and "walk" 12 miles a day (including cycling).
Week 3 so far of my stepbet, and I've been walking everyday!
4. Plan 1 hike a month to prepare for Machu Picchu
-Planned a hike on MLK Jr Day but it got cancelled so planning on reaching out to friends about a different hike.
5. Complete 3 more Stepbets (8-10k steps a day)
Going well so far, on track to complete all 5 of my Stepbets
6. Walk for 1 hour a day and bike for 1 hour a day
I have yet to start listening to audiobooks while I ride but I want to try that this week.
WRITING and reading
7. Finish 1 book a month
I’m currently reading:
"Outlive” by Peter Attia and Bill Gifford
"ADHD is Awesome" by Penn Holderness
"Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring" by JRR Tolkien
"Trusting God" by Jerry Bridges
Books read in 2024 include:
- Ultra Processed People
- The Willpower Instinct
- God on Mute
- Zodiac Academy Book 9
Didn't get to read very much on vacation since I was catching up on writing.
8. Write a blog post everyday so I get in the habit of writing.
Still about 2 weeks behind but slowly catching up.

9. Finish the New Testament
Fell behind on this project as well but want to restart while knitting.
HOME
10. Clean and declutter for 15 minutes a day
The goal:
- Consign and donate clothes in donate bin
- Donate anything no longer wanted
- Store things we're keeping in an organized and logical manner
11. Pan 2 lipsticks
Making good progress so far, since it's the only one that I brought on vacation.
12. Pan a blush
Need to repress my blush bc it broke but I think I'll be able to hit pan on it this year.
13. Pan a perfume
Making really good progress on Vanillary and brought it with me on vacation and have been using religiously!
FAMILY/FRIENDS
14. Plan our 2025 trips
Our Maine/Boston trip was amazing and I bought my plane tickets to Florida!
Still planning to maybe go to Kentucky in July and a possible trip in December.
15. Cook a new recipe once a week (and write about it)
Done! Planning on looking up a few more recipes to try this week after going to the farmer's market for some groceries.
16. Take a Glass fusing class
Had to reschedule this because I got sick but it's on the books! Also planning on taking a crocheting class as well!
17. Post my progress regarding these resolutions on this blog on the first day of every month.
