Did you check your butt? | Day 31 of 90

Some updates on my goals for 2025 and some reflections too,

PERSONAL FITNESS

1. Go to the Sauna in the morning or on cold days when I don't have pickleball.

Going back to the Sauna during my Fitness 19 trial was really nice, especially on the cold days, so I'm looking forward to having a reason to have a sauna again when I check out the 24 hour fitness closer to my house. After finishing up my classpass classes, I've come to realize that I don't love weight machines as much as a workout room with windows so I can see my form.

2. Play pickleball once a week with friends and with Frank.

End of February and March so far hasn't had any pickleball because of the rain and being busy the last Thursday but Pickleball class will be starting in 2 weeks which is exciting.

3. Start Stepbet and "walk" 12 miles a day (including cycling).

Today is my last day of Stepbet! I will be taking a short break for a while and maybe thinking about if I want to continue on with my goal of trying to walk 10k steps a day and how to make that fun, or do some cycling instead. I definitely have been walking more than in previous weeks but it's still been hard for me to make walking 10k steps a regular and consistent habit for me.

4. Plan 1 hike a month to prepare for Machu Picchu

-Did a 7 mile hike in Pasadena

-Did a 3 mile hike in Thousand Oaks

-Did lots of walking in Germany, though not many hikes

-Planned hike to Vazquez Rocks on pause but I don't have many clients left for March so I'll be planning on some hikes for then.

5. Complete 3 Stepbets (8-10k steps a day)

6. Complete 3 more Stepbets (8-10k steps a day)

Preemptively calling this done!

7. Walk for 1 hour a day and bike for 1 hour a day

I haven't really figured out a way to make this fun or appealing for me yet so more brainstorming on this.

WRITING and reading

8. Finish 1 book a month

I’m currently reading:

"Outlive” by Peter Attia and Bill Gifford
"ADHD is Awesome" by Penn Holderness
"Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring" by JRR Tolkien
"Trusting God" by Jerry Bridges

Books read in 2025 include:

  1. Scythe and Sparrow
  2. The Unhoneymooners
  3. Dream Girl Drama
  4. Deep End
  5. The True Love Experiment
I might try to finish up some puzzles this month so I can finish up some books.

9. Write a blog post everyday so I get in the habit of writing.

Going well after some fits and starts and figuring out exactly what I wanted to write about.

10. Finish the New Testament

Started this by joining a Bible Study and we are starting with Revelations!

HOME

11. Clean and declutter for 15 minutes a day

The goal:

  1. Consign and donate clothes in donate bin
  2. Donate anything no longer wanted
  3. Store things we're keeping in an organized and logical manner
This is going to be a project that I tackle during Mercury Retrograde!

12. Pan 2 lipsticks

Making lots of progress here on both of these two lip products.

13. Pan a blush

Lots of usage here as well, so happy with the progress

14. Pan a perfume

Lots of usage here as well, so happy with the progress

FAMILY/FRIENDS

15. Plan our 2025 trips

Looking at plane tickets for Nashville so far and no drop in price yet. With Southwest taking away free checked bags, it looks like we might have to buy them sometime in April, but sooner rather than later.

16. Cook a new recipe once a week (and write about it)

This week I made some spinach waffles, a new technique for cooking pasta which came out amazing and we ate out a few times. I've been losing my desire and inspiration to cook recently, maybe with the Venus Retrograde, so I think I need to maybe revisit some of the recipes I had saved in my instagram and try making some of them this week.

17. Take a Glass fusing class

Nancy scheduled her color analysis so I am hoping to do a pop up at her studio sometime in April!

18. Do the splits

I've been stretching with Amber by doing videos and also when I am going to the gym after a run, and it's been great so far. I haven't been sore in ages so it feels good to work out! Hoping to be really consistent for the rest of March.

19. Post my progress regarding these resolutions on this blog on the first day of every month.
