Spin move! | Day 62 of 90
Checking in on my 2025 goals and recapping how they are going as of April!
PERSONAL FITNESS
1. Go to the Sauna in the morning or on cold days when I don't have pickleball.
This itch has been scratched by the infrared hot yoga I was doing at Agora Hills, but I am planning on doing my free trial at 24 hour fitness, and potentially another Classpass trial with Frank's new phone number after this week is up!
I decided to buy a 12 pass class at Oxygen Yoga since they were doing a promotion!!
2. Play pickleball once a week with friends and with Frank.
Since I've been taking classes, I've been playing at least twice a week, once with friends, in addition to class, and I've been improving, which is great! I am hoping to start going to drills again by next month if Hazel's separation anxiety can get better.
3. Start Stepbet and "walk" 12 miles a day (including cycling).
4. Plan 1 hike a month to prepare for Machu Picchu
-Did a 7 mile hike in Pasadena
-Did a 3 mile hike in Thousand Oaks
-Did lots of walking in Germany, though not many hikes
-Planned hike to Vazquez Rocks on pause
5. Complete 3 Stepbets (8-10k steps a day)
6. Complete 3 more Stepbets (8-10k steps a day)
7. Walk for 1 hour a day and bike for 1 hour a day
Since we've gotten Hazel, I have been trying to take the dogs on a morning walk for an hour to tire them out during the day, which has really been working for me! Especially when we switch it up and go somewhere new. It's also an arm workout with all of the pulling that they do. I am hoping one day that Hazel will be trained enough to be able to walk with me without any leash!
WRITING and reading
8. Finish 1 book a month
I’m currently reading:
"Outlive” by Peter Attia and Bill Gifford

"The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin

- The Unhoneymooners
- Dream Girl Drama
- Deep End
- The True Love Experiment
- From Blood and Ash
- The Ex Vows
- You With a View
- A Risk Worth Taking
- How to Keep House While Drowning

"Lord of the Rings, The Fellowship of the Ring" by JRR Tolkien
"Trusting God" by Jerry Bridges

"The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin
Something that has been working for me is going to Silent Book Club so I am going to keep going to at least one or two a month! Only two books left to get to my goal for this year!
9. Write a blog post everyday so I get in the habit of writing.
20% of the way in for my current 75 day journey!
10. Finish the New Testament
The Bible Study I joined has been awesome. I am sad that there are only 2 weeks left until it starts up again in September!
HOME
11. Clean and declutter for 15 minutes a day
The goal:
Consign and donate clothes in donate bin- Step one is done!!
Donate anything no longer wanted- Step 2 is done!! Meredith helped me drop stuff off at Goodwil!
- Store things we're keeping in an organized and logical manner
- Guest room is done and Garage is next!
12. Pan 2 lipsticks
Making lots of progress except for the fact that I have misplaced one of the lipsticks I am panning so I need to find that. Meanwhile, I have been working on using my lip gloss daily.
13. Pan a blush
FINALLY HIT PAN!!! WOOHOOO!!
14. Pan a perfume
Lots of usage here as well, took a short break but I am back to putting on Vanillary everyday when I sit down at my desk, so I am hoping to finish it up by next month.
15. Finish up 3 containers of tea before Summer
Started on container #2 and I only have 1 bag left of my decaf tea! I've been drinking tea pretty diligently, especially on colder days and have been really enjoying that.
FAMILY/FRIENDS
16. Plan our 2025 trips
With our newly adopted dog, we haven't figured out dog sitting quite yet, so travel plans are currently on hold.
17. Cook a new recipe once a week (and write about it)
Made some crispy potatoes that came out really well that I had forgotten I had wanted to make until I was organizing my todoist! Enjoyed some smoked salmon, some kbbq and fajita shrimp bowls this month!
18. Take a Glass fusing class
Nancy did her color analysis and we are planning on an event for later this year!
19. Do the splits
Stretching every week and hot yoga has been helping me to get deeper into my splits which is awesome!
20. Finish my first pair of socks!
Knitting has been put on pause since Hazel requires a lot of watching and she LOVES yarn, more specifically, playing with it. I finished one sock for the husband so just the second one left for him! My goal is to finish a sock for Frank in 1 month!
21. Organize all of my random notes (270 of them) into 1 system
This has been a huge undertaking but I am down to 23 notes!! I am using todoist for my brain dumps going forward and processing my to do's more often for my sanity.
22. Post my progress regarding these resolutions on this blog on the first day of every month.
I'm really glad that I ended up setting so many goals this year instead of what I've done in the past because it really helps me to see how much I have done this year so far in just the first quarter! 10/22 is really great and I'm feeling motivated for the next update!
