Checking in on my 2025 goals and recapping how they are going as of October!

PERSONAL FITNESS

1. Go to the Sauna in the morning or on cold days when I don't have pickleball.

It's been hot this summer so I haven't used it yet on the hot days, but we've had a few chilly days mixed in where I've reached for the sauna!

2. Play pickleball once a week with friends and with Frank.

Going twice a week and hoping to increase the days I go with friends!

3. Finish The Great Clock In - 6 Week Weightlifting Program

Joined a gym and signed up for Personal Training!! Finally! After all of the hemming and hawing...AND I got a super good deal because it is a lifetime membership and it was only $250 (plus an annual fee of $50, which is like $4 after 2 years). Will write more in a later added goal.

4. Decrease Body Fat Percentage and Gain 4 lbs of Muscle

Reality check hit me hard when I did my InBody scan and compared it to August of 2024. I've lost 4 lbs of muscle, and increased in body fat by 3%, even though my weight is about the same. I know I've definitely lost some strength by not being a part of a gym or being consistent but that was a big wake up call. That's why I committed to the personal training and I'm glad I signed up for this 6 week workout program too. Only 78 days until the end of the year, and my goal is to work out and post as consistently as I can. 

5. Walk 5 miles a day, starting with Stepbet

Did Stepbet and have been walking and cleaning everyday for the past 6 weeks!

6. Complete 3 Stepbets (8-10k steps a day)

7. Complete 3 more Stepbets (8-10k steps a day)

WRITING and reading

8. Finish 1 book a month

11. Clean and declutter for 20 minutes a day

The goal: Clean with Frank everyday for 20 minutes with a timer! I want to do this more consistently as a part of our daily routine.

  1. Consign and donate clothes in donate bin

12. Pan 2 lipsticks

Panned one by tossing a lip gloss because I think it was breaking me out and I found my other lipstick that I am trying to use up! SO close to using that one up, I think I might be able to finish using it up by next month??

FINALLY HIT PAN!!! WOOHOOO!!

14. Pan a perfume

Done!!!!

15. Finish up 3 containers of tea before Summer

Done!!!

FAMILY/FRIENDS

16. Plan our 2025 trips

First trip of the year to Disneyland was a success! Went back to Florida for 2 weeks of training and going back in November for a fun trip with Sarah. Planning on visiting Ellice in December/January and then back to Florida in April 2026!

17. Cook a new recipe once a week (and write about it)

Took a little break from cooking but getting back into it!

18. Take a Glass fusing class

No update on the collab yet

19. Do the splits

I forgot that I should have stretched after my work out but I'll try to do some stretch videos after my work outs.

20. Finish my first pair of socks!

Finished my second Tunisian crochet shawl which was a gift to my mother in law and working on my finishing up my sweater!

21. Make my first garment

Taking a shirt making class after I bought my first sewing machine! This is on pause since I've been so busy with work!

22. Make a baby quilt for Sera

Almost done with my first quilt!!

23. Organize all of my random notes (270 of them) into 1 system

Still in progress and I need to spend some time organizing my brain dumps on a daily and weekly basis.

24. Post my progress regarding these resolutions on this blog on the first day of every month.  

16/24 is really great and I'm aiming to finish up some of these before the end of the year so I can really get my butt into gear.
