The city...

One of the many of other things I loved about the cities in Europe other than the amazing affordable food that was so high quality, the public transit like the delightfully clean subways and comfortable trains, and the historical buildings that were hundreds of years old, was of course, the people.

Once you step off the plane, you immediately can tell that you are no longer in the US. People live simpler here, it's not about accumulating more and more, and that appeals to me so much.

Recently, I saw a purse I had been eyeing that was over $600. It was now on sale for $140. I was busy with work, New Year's Eve, and by the time I looked on the website again to buy it, it had already sold out. I was disappointed, but then relieved. I missed out on the sale and I was thankful for it.

One day, I hope to retire to Europe and as I contemplate the move, I am beginning to see my things through the lens of items that will last until then, that I will be happy to take with me, and items I want to use up before then.
